The Kids Talk Radio News Network's Mission Statement and Projects for 2012

The missions for Kids Talk Radio, Super School Teen TV, Super School Press, and Youth World News are to train student backpack journalists. We do this from the Super School University Communications and Journalism Department.    We train our youth journalists to form student backpack journalist news teams.   These backpack journalist teams gather the news from Japan, Russia, France, England, Italy, Spain, Brazil, Antarctica, America, and the Cabo Verde Islands.  Our Youth World News Headquarters is in Long Beach, California.   We are committed to creating intern jobs and school to work program for youth and to report the news in areas of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, art, sports and music.  Kids Talk Radio will serve as a communications and journalism department under the supervision of Super School University.

2012-2015 Cabo Verde Tenth Island Project

Join the Cabo Verde Tenth Island Project.  A team of gifted and talented teachers and students are working on a project to create the world most perfect island. All of our work is based on the real Cabo Verde Islands.  Our project begins with the island of Santa Luzia, Cabo Verde.  This uninhabited island needs water.  With water the impossible becomes possible.  Our team is going to solve the water problem.  In fact, we are going to solve all the problems and turn this island into the place where people want to live.  We are shooting for great government, jobs, good education system, health care solutions that work, and everything it takes to create the worlds most perfect island.  We need your ideas.  Our project is based on the United States STEM Program.  Our teams of student will be spending time using iPads, iPhones and computers of all types to study the science, technology, engineering and mathematics necessary for our new island to come alive.  This virtual project is pack with learning in the real world.  Selected students will join our paid intern program and will work on real assignments to get this project completed on time.  Students will have an opportunity to learn Portuguese and to communicate with other students on the Cabo Verde Island.  All students have an opportunity to travel to the Cabo Verde Islands as student backpack journalists.   The results of this project will be reported to the US Department of Education and brought to the attention of President Obama and his "Race to the Top" education advisers.

Distance Learning News: V Congresso Cabo Verde Islands

Bob Barboza was one of the USA educational panelists at the international Fifth Congress that was held on the Cabo Verde Islands from April 15 to 22, 2011.  Bob was representing the Super School University educators when he talked about three distance learning projects designed for the USA and the Cabo Verde Islands.  The projects were: Kids Talk Radio, The Cabo Verde Tenth Island Project and Jr. Medical School.  We have posted additional photos, and audio and video podcasts on all three projects.

The Fifth Congress of Frames Cape Verdean Diaspora was held between 18 and 21 April in the city of Mindelo, S. Vicente, de acordo com uma nota de imprensa enviada a Visaonews. Vincent, according to a news release sent to Visaonews.

The main theme of the event is "The Cape Verdean Culture as a Factor of National Identity and Development in Cape Verde." The stage of the discussions will be the site of the Cape Verde International Fair, FIC.

The deadline for submissions is March 31, and the organization announced that it has negotiated agreements with the airline TACV and hotels on the island of St. Vincent, to benefit the participants at special rates.

In January, the president of the organization, Wladimir Brito, told the newspaper that the organization provides Aseman about 600 entries for the event which should exceed the number of participants in the last congress four years ago in Praia.

The conferences, conducting four year have been recognized as the events of greatest significance, being an important forum for dialogue and exchange of experiences on the experiences of emigrant Cape Verdean communities.

Apart from organizing the quadrennial Congress of the European Cape Verdean Diaspora, the forum "has positioned itself as an instrument of strengthening the social, cultural and economic development of Cape Verdean communities in host societies, as well as developing the spirit of solidarity communities themselves and between them and Cape Verde. "
